The history of the cult German company Villeroy & Boch began with the unification of the enterprises and families of Jean-Francois Boch and Nicholas Villeroy. Representatives of both families were very gifted creatively and had been engaged in faience and ceramics arts for many years. Today Villeroy & Boch is the world's largest manufacturer of high quality decorative, table and sanitary porcelain and faience. The company is zealotry to traditions and is still owned by the descendants of the family.

A tête-à-tête is a type of special breakfast service for two. It was made in a compact size and was intended for drinking tea or coffee with small snacks in bed or at a small table. These sets were made exclusively from porcelain, which was, at that time, evidence of their high quality and the status of their owner.

Mark on this tête-à-tête was used by Villeroy & Boch between 1947 and 1956.

The service is in excellent condition, with slight traces of usage.
