Tea duos "English Garden"

Porcelain tea duos are hand-painted with gilding.

Royal Albert China was founded in Stoke-on-Trent in 1895 as the family business of Thomas Wilde. The name Albert Crown China (since 1904 - Royal Albert Crown China) was chosen in honor of the boy, Albert Frederick Arthur George, born in the same year, who would become King George VI in 1936. The company has been successfully operating to this day, exporting its elegant English porcelain all over the world.

Experiments to recreate the incomprehensible Chinese porcelain, the secret of which the Chinese have kept for over 1000 years, began in England in the 15th century. In English translation "china" or "bone china" means "porcelain".
At first, products imitating the Dutch Delft were spread. In 1671, John Dwight tried to "invent" porcelain in his Fulham factory, but to no avail. The first English manufactory, which worked according to the formula of the German alchemists, was Pomona from Newcastle.

Mark on these duos belongs to the Royal Albert Crown China manufactory and was placed in the period 1925-1927. The pattern number denotes the Alhambra series (1917-1931), executed in the Japanese Imari style.

The general condition of the tea duos can be assessed as excellent.
