Large vintage tapestry of high quality with a reproduction of a 17th century painting depicting the defeat of the Spanish army near the canal in Bruges by the troops of King Louis XIV in 1667.
The reproduction was made by the French Atelier d'Art de Rambouillet. For decades, Rambouillet tapestries were in great demand not only in France, but were also the focus of attention of American decorators thanks to Allan Waller, a sales agent who exported these works. The business began with André Le Pan (Demey), who created high-quality tapestry reproductions using silkscreen printing.
In 1963, he founded Editions d’Art de Rambouillet, relying on a developed marketing concept and selecting works for reproduction in museums. The Rambouillet company had the exclusive right to reproduce paintings from famous museums.
Later, the Rambouillet brand was bought by the Italian company Tapetti e Arazzi d’arte.

The tapestry was purchased at an elite auction in France, in the city of Cannes.
