Pair of Vases "Kingsguard" by Gustave Asch

France, end of 19th century, porcelain, mark of master Gustave Asch.

Cobalt vases are made with techniques of covering, molding, gilding and painting on gold.

Gustave Asch was a renowned porcelain master from Tours on the banks of the Loire. Beloved by collectors, the demanded author is known for his remarkable shades, which he used on his products: "bleu de Tours" (dark blue enamel), "vert Empire" (very dark green) "bleu paon" ("blue peacock", blue with a slight shade of green).

The signature mark of master, "hatchet" (halberd), was put on items from the period 1890-1911.

Pair of vases are in excellent condition, in accordance with age, with slight traces of usage on the handles.
