"Delft" Fireplace Set from the Netherlands, 19th Century

The faience fireplace set consists of a clock and a pair of candlesticks. Made with bronze elements and casting technique.
The production of ceramics in Delft began in the 16th century. The dawn of production and the emergence of the famous blue and white pattern occurred in the middle of the 17th century, when Chinese and Japanese porcelain began to appear on the European market. At that time, in Delft, as in many European cities, craftsmen tried to imitate the fashionable Asian porcelain. Over time, Dutch manufacturers developed their own unique style, which they embodied in faience.
The marks on the bottom belong to the Belgian manufacturer Boch Keramis (period 1841-1930). The company was founded in 1841 and has been based in La Louvière since 1844. The founder of Boch Keramis is also the founder of the iconic German company Villeroy&Boch.
The condition of the lot can be assessed as excellent, in accordance with the age.
